Valhalla was created in 1980 amidst an orange grove with 30+ acres reaching approximately 700 feet along the shoreline of Lake Eloise. The spectacular sunrise view encompasses giant Cypress trees with wildlife in abundance. The famed attraction of the era was Cypress Gardens, the water ski capital of the world, where now the amusement park Legoland commands the view across the lake.

The developers (Marvin Edmiston and Ed Kelley) chose the name Valhalla for the cluster of 60 lots and immediately started planting oak trees. These 45 year old oaks are the backbone of the beauty we enjoy today. In recent years our land was annexed into the City of Winter Haven.
The strong bylaws and restrictions enforced by the volunteer Board Members preserve the timeless ambiance of our gated community. The lush green vegetation is appreciated by all residents of the 52 homes.

We are active people from biking, tennis, water aerobics, pickleball, and dog walking to jogging on our two roads, Odin and Woden. You do not need to leave the community to find fun. Activities such as an array of card games including bridge, poker, mahjong, rummikub, and holiday/special events hosted in the clubhouse offer social opportunities steps away from your home. Our residents span a variety of ages and we mingle well.
